Easter Table

I have a curly filbert tree in my new foundation garden. It will only grow to about eight feet, and it will hide the electrical meter, etc. on the side of my house. But it has the added advantage of having really interesting branches. It had a branch last summer that trailed a little too far into the yard, so while I was doing some pruning this Spring, I clipped it off. It had such a fabulous shape, that I couldn’t bear to throw it away, so I decided that I would use it for my Easter centerpiece.

If you have seen my posts about various table settings, you will have seen that I have a long light fixture above my table. I decided that I would suspend the branch from the light fixture and decorate it with faux butterflies and blue Easter eggs from an Easter tree that I did years ago.

I wanted to repeat the yellows, blues, and whites from the branch suspended above the table in the centerpiece. I started with a white wooden tray with a scalloped edge and filled in with blue, green, and white vases and pitchers. I filled the vases with daffodils and hellebores (Lenten Rose)–because that is what is blooming now. I set a couple of ceramic bunnies on either side of the tray. I finished the table with a blue, green, and white printed tablecloth, cute bunny placemats, a green and white napkin, carrot coffee mugs, water glasses, and flatware.

Happy Easter!

  1. Lovely! Wonderful idea to suspend the branch from the light fixtures. I always appreciate learning new ways to bring the outside indoors. And I needed to plant some Lenten roses. My mother has some, and they are one of her favorites flowers.
