Decorations for the SUMMER OF FUN!!

I have been putting up patriotic bunting on my deck and dock for YEARS for the summer holidays, but somehow last year, people assumed that we were making a political statement and they assumed incorrectly. We were simply celebrating the holidays of the summer. So this year, I decided that we would put up colorful pennants that carry no such connotation, unless we leave them up until October and people assume that we’re celebrating Octoberfest. Since we are both of German heritage, that is not an unreasonable assumption.

We were a little concerned that the birds might decide to perch on these, but I don’t think that they like the fluttering and the lines are really light weight, so I don’t know if they would really support even the lightest songbird.
