We planted a curly filbert a few years ago and it apparently didn’t like the REALLY cold weather we had this past winter because a large branch died this spring. I cut it off and planned to use it for flower arrangements because it’s super sculptural and cool.
I started the arrangement by putting wet oasis foam in a low rectangular dish and adding the curly filbert branches.

I have lunaria (money plant) that has gone to seed in my cutting garden, so I added some of that as well.

One of the hostas in the cutting garden had some interesting flowers on it, so I added those next.

My oakleaf hydrangeas are putting on quite a show, so I cut some of those for the arrangement.

I have some Rheinland (I think) pink astilbe in the perennial bed on the north side of the house that is blooming right now.

The last to go in was two different types of dahlias that just started blooming.

This arrangement is definitely prettier from the front and back. Good to know for future arrangements.
