We have had really good success with our fall garden and now is the time to start your seeds. I planted some carrot seeds in our empty tub that my husband finally drilled some holes in for drainage. There isn’t much to see so I am not including a photo. I will need to keep these evenly moist until they sprout. I think that I am going to get some burlap to put over the soil to keep in the moisture. Once they are about 1″ tall, I will need to thin them until the spacing is about 3″ between plants.
I started my kale plants using my milk jug trick.

This morning I transplanted them into pots and also into a tray lined with newsprint.

I started my romaine seeds in a tray lined with newsprint. Not much to see, but here they are:

I started baby bok choi in the tray full of little 4 pack pots.
Once we pull up the summer items and replenish the soil with some planting mix, I will transplant these to those areas. If you live in this area, I highly recommend some fall plants since we still have plenty of growing season left, and many of these are frost tolerant and will keep producing well into winter, if not into next spring.
