I have recently pulled up all my tomatoes, squash, and peppers to make room for my fall plants. I have started my fall plants, and I had some that I needed to get in the ground, but my primary garden needs to have some additional landscape mix put on it (which is supposed to be delivered shortly) and then some mulch because we didn’t mulch this bed this spring, and it really needs it.
Anyway, I started baby bok choi from seeds and I had a lot of my romaine plants that were big enough to plant, so I put those in the stock tanks.

I have TONS of Lacinato kale started and many more romaine lettuce plants. I will start my arugula, radishes, and dill (which LOVES cool weather and will grow through most of the fall and winter barring any crazy cold weather) by direct sowing them. I am going to buy my broccoli plants. We haven’t had any luck with cauliflower, or with brussels sprouts, so I’m not going to plant those this year.
We’re also planning to plant 4 blueberry bushes, and 12 rhubarb plants on the east and west sides of the shed this fall. I’ll post about that later. Also, it’s time to order your spring blooming bulbs before they run out of your favorite varieties–I ordered some peonies, and there were already some varieties that were sold out. In addition to bulbs for your garden, it’s time to order amaryllis and paperwhite bulbs for forcing for the holidays. Van Engelen is my absolute favorite source for all of these.
It’s so hot right now that it’s hard to think about fall, but it’ll be here shortly.

Gardening is time consuming but fun
