I found some new (old) items to use on our porch this year. While we were in Lansing, MI this past February, I went to an antique store that had zillions of old wooden ice skates for $5/pair. I picked some up because I planned to use them with our wreath. My husband hung a double hook on the porch for our wreaths, which works perfectly for my Christmas wreath and skates. I hung the wreath on the top hook and the skates from the bottom hook.

Earlier this year (probably in the summer), I bought some garland at the thrift store that looks like cedar, which I thought would look great with my wreath. It was $5 and pretty long. It had some really sad/melted berries or something on it and I clipped those off. I was thinking that I would have to cut it in half to use it on my railings, but while I was fluffing it, I found that it was two garlands that they had hooked together which is just what I needed.
Once I had it fluffed back up, I used small zip ties to attach it to the railings. I clipped the zip tie tails off and added pine cones (that I have used for several years) and two big bows that match the wreath. I think that it turned out super cute.

I’m thinking about adding fairy lights….what do you think?

You have such beautiful ideas!! Thank you for sharing!
