The Cutting Garden

I haven’t posted much about the gardens this year, so you have already missed peony season, but we’re getting ready for tons of blooms coming up.

Gladiolus look to be off to a good start.
Nigella/Love In A MIst and Liatris/Gayfeather. I love to use Nigella seed pods in flower arrangements.
More Lunaria/Money Plant–I think it likes the compost pile better.
I leave my dahlias in the ground to overwinter, so they usually start blooming in May. This one has a few buds.

I need to put up some more plant supports for some of my late starting dahlias that are just now starting to come up. This bed is generally not much work at all. I am not growing zinnias back here this year because I am growing them up with my sweet potatoes again.

I’ll post more when things start blooming.
