My brother and his family visited with us last week from Germany. I ordered a bunch of sunflowers from Costco and I bought some Lemon Leaf from the grocery. For this table, I did my plain rimmed Villeroy and Boch dinner plates, and paper napkin with a leafy design and Pier One MacIntosh bowls for the salad. The glasses are Sweet Swirl by Noritake. These wear like iron if you ever need to replace some glasses and they come in all the different shapes and size and a big selection of colors.
For the centerpiece, I put sunflowers in white pitchers and had a little greenery ball in a green dish, a ceramic fish (I have to be so careful with him because he is FRAGILE), and a metal frog.

Then for dinner, my future daughter in law helped me switch the table over to this bold blue and white look starting with a great blue and white tablecloth that we just laid over the one we used for lunch. I used my Wedgwood Service plates, a graphic blue and white napkin by Williams Sonoma, a blue striped dinner plate, and “Arabesque” salad plates/low bowls by Dansk. The glasses are vintage Fostoria iced tea glasses that I have picked up here and there. For the centerpiece, I used my neat porcelain server, sunflowers in a blue cut to clear vase, a oval bowl full of lemons and a couple of clear vases with sunflowers.

We had shrimp and grits for dinner and this worked well for that.
