A Few Tweaks to the Primary Bedroom

You might recall, that I repainted our bedroom and bathroom last Spring. It looks so much more like us now, and I was generally really happy with it. However, I wanted to get all the pictures that we had stored in the basement hung up, so that spurred some minor redecoration.

The gallery wall above the bed was up, but I added a couple of Shasta Pine Cone salad plates to it. The photo of us leaving our wedding was in the basement so I hung it up to the right of the bed and hung an amateur oil painting on metal that had been in my office above it.

The television in our room wasn’t working, so I asked my husband to take it down. I patched the holes and touched up the paint and hung up a fantastic oil painting that I found on EBTH.com.

The colors in the painting work so well with the color of the chests and the wall color.

I purchased these vintage Stiffel lamps a few years ago on EBTH thinking that I would use them in the basement, but I think that they look great here. I got a fantastic deal on the lamps, but the shades were spendy. All in all, I came in at about half of what I would have had to pay if I had purchased similar Stiffel lamps new. They are REALLY big lamps.

I put a wicker tray (that I already had) with a plant and deer antlers in it on the right hand chest.

I found a wooden tray at a consignment store in ATL and put books in it and topped in with a thrifted silverplate tray and porcelain boxes and a bowls for the chest on the left hand side.

I added a stack of books topped with a thrifted silver tray filled with little wooden boxes on my bedside table.

I am going to move the embroidered accent pillow that is currently on the bed to the chair, because I am having a large bolster pillow made for the bed. The lady who is making my stuff says that it is gorgeous. I can’t wait to see it. I’ll post a quick update when I post about some other redecorating that I am doing in the near future.
