This is a rerun from last year, but we had Gyro Burgers last night because I found ground lamb at the grocery this week. I LOVE gyros and souvlaki sandwiches. We hadn’t had the gyro burgers in a while, so it was definitely time to put them back in the rotation. These are super easyContinue reading “Gyro Burgers”

St. Patrick’s Day Table
This is an all green theme perfect for Saint Patrick’s Day. I started with a green and white appliqued table runner, a green planter, and spring green lanterns. For the place settings I used Fiesta ware in two shades of green, a white coffee mug with asparagus on it, and green and white napkins thatContinue reading “St. Patrick’s Day Table”
Chris’ Favorite Enchiladas
My oldest son requested enchiladas for his birthday dinner several years ago and I made them with what I had on hand and fortunately I wrote down what I did because my family LOVED them. I made these for eldest’s birthday again this year and made a double batch of the meat filling so weContinue reading “Chris’ Favorite Enchiladas”
BBQ Turkey Sandwiches
I posted the recipe for the BBQ Turkey a couple of days ago. Here is what I did with the finished turkey. First, I removed the skin from one of the pieces of turkey breast. I sliced it pretty thin and put it on a plate and microwaved it on 60% power for 90 seconds.Continue reading “BBQ Turkey Sandwiches”
A LATE Snow and the Puppy who LOVES it
Last weekend it was close to 80 degrees here. Today, the high won’t get above freezing with a low of 13 predicted for overnight. Brrrrrrrrr. I’ll be honest, I would have been a lot more excited about 3″ of snow a month ago, but we have a family member with an entirely different opinion. SheContinue reading “A LATE Snow and the Puppy who LOVES it”
Two-Fer Turkey
The weather today is going to be in the 70’s and gorgeous. Tomorrow is only going to be in the 30’s for the HIGH. So I am going to make turkey two ways. First, I took the meat off the bone according to this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd1rM3CsoN0&t=670s&ab_channel=Tasty For today’s dinner, I am going to barbequeContinue reading “Two-Fer Turkey”
Features that I love about my Butler’s Pantry and Laundry Room
When we looked at this house, this space looked like this: If you have been following this blog for a while, you know that I divided this space into a butler’s pantry and laundry room. It is a huge space (over 160 sf) and was underutilized. Here is what it looks like now: The colorsContinue reading “Features that I love about my Butler’s Pantry and Laundry Room”
BIG Batch of Saag Paneer
We have friends who are native to India and they brought this over once when they visited. We loved it so much that we had to make it ourselves. I make the recipe from the America’s Test Kitchen Vegetarian Cookbook. You can subscribe to their site and get this recipe, or you can use thisContinue reading “BIG Batch of Saag Paneer”
Banana French Toast
I had some really over ripe bananas and thought I could use them in French toast batter. Here’s what I came up with: Batter: 3 really ripe bananas (should be able to almost squeeze them out of the skin like toothpaste) 5 eggs 3 cups of milk 1/2 tsp salt 1 tbsp vanilla extract 1Continue reading “Banana French Toast”
A BIGGER garden for tomatoes…..
Last summer/fall, we sprayed a section of grass next to the garden on the south side of the house so that we could grow more tomatoes this year. So this spring, I had 5 cubic yards of planting mix delivered. I used some around the shed to bring up the grade between the concrete onContinue reading “A BIGGER garden for tomatoes…..”
