Sorry that I haven’t posted anything in a while. My laptop crashed and it took several days to fix it. I will try to catch you up on what has been going on around here.
It’s Spring, so of course, we have had a zillion projects around the yard and gardens. We are usually completely wiped out when we put all our tools away, so our handy little garden shed was an absolute disaster. I decided to tackle it today.
As I mentioned in the post about the shed, the interior has a lot of hooks and shelves, and bins, etc. to store all the stuff that we keep in there. Over time, things migrated to hooks/spots that belonged to other items. I got everything put away where it belongs.

While the overall shed looks great, my biggest accomplishment was to add loops to my small gardening tools so that they could be hung on the shelf/potrack.

Honestly, I don’t know why I haven’t taken the time to do this before now. This also shows the rack I bought for our “chicken boots”–which is what we called them when we had chickens. I’m hopeful that I will have chickens again….we’ll see. I love this rack because it stores the boots upside down for draining and then dirt doesn’t fall down in them.
The other project that cleaning up the garden shed inspired was putting the badminton net back up. We had stored it in the shed for the past few years and I decided to put it back up to get it out of the shed.
Several years ago, I bought a professional grade volleyball/badminton net and strung it on two posts meant for chain link fencing. (Be sure to buy the caps too.) We wanted to be able to take it down and put it up easily. We accomplished this by sinking a 16″ length of 4″ PVC pipe into a hole in the ground at each end of the net and backfilling around pipe to hold it steady. Then we cut a 16″ length of PVC pipe that is slightly larger than the metal post that the net is strung on. We put tape over both end and put it in the hole. Then we mixed a small amount of concrete and poured it around the smaller PVC pipe and waited until it was dry–a few days. We used a small handsaw to cut both pipes off at ground level.

And here is what it looks like completed.

We are ready for a match when you are!

Ready for the Germans.

They do like to play badminton. It doesn’t look like they will be able to travel this year because the vaccine rollout in Germany is going very slowly….
