“Picnic” Table

We have friends and family coming this weekend, so I put together a fun summery table. I started with a blue gingham cloth and then decided to use some really colorful candle holders which drove the rest of the decisions. Based on the candleholders, I decided to use some little royal blue buckets for flowers and filled those with yellow, and buff mums, red carnations, white dahlias, boxwood greenery, and red gerbera daisies. White was the obvious choice for the plates and I pulled out my red and white checked napkins to reinforce the picnic theme. I think it’s super cute.

I will put a blue and white tablecloth on the peninsula to use as the buffet and my latest flower arrangement from my summer subscription will be the centerpiece. The colors are a good match with the ones on the table, but they are so gorgeous–zinnias, love in a mist, lisianthus, sunflowers, gladiola, false indigo greenery (I think), lilies, phlox, delphinium, and statice. I added a few flowers from the bouquets I bought at Aldi, along with some dill, and dahlias (white, pink, and red/orange) from my own garden. I also stuck some sweet potato vine in the vase.
