“Copper” Tea Light Candle Holders

I am helping my niece with table decorations for her wedding reception. She wanted to use coppery colors in her flowers and candle holders. I have used metallic paints before, but this paint is amazing:

I was absolutely stunned by how the candle holders turned out.

Here’s how I did it:

Step one: Wash and dry thoroughly the glassware you intend to paint. I got these from the thrift store for $.35/each.

Step two: Put on some latex gloves and wash the outsides of the glasses with rubbing alcohol to remove any oil that your hands left on them. Allow the alcohol to evaporate before painting.

Step three: Place the glasses upside down on a table, or board on top of a couple of sawhorses. I put newsprint down on my board before I put the glasses down. If it’s breezy outside, like it was the day I did these, you may need to clamp or tape your paper down so that the breeze doesn’t catch it.

Step four: Follow the directions on the can to get the best results from your spraying. You need to let these dry for two hours before you touch them to move them.

Step five: Allow to dry thoroughly (or for 24 hours) before using.
