We worked our tails off this past weekend. My husband watched more YouTube videos and found a better mix for the mortar that is “stickier” for adhering the stone veneer to the wall. He also got a different cutter which is much faster and way more accurate. So, we actually made quite a bit of progress.
We were working along on this wall (really my husband did a lot by himself) and almost got too far along before we put up the brackets to hold our Howling Cow Farm sign. Now that the wall is this far along my husband says that he can envision the finished product. Where you can see the wall behind the rocks is going to be filled with mortar when we do the grouting and we’ll add small pieces of stone to it.

We haven’t made nearly as much progress on the other side of the door.

I brought in all the stone from one of the pallets and have it all laid out on the floor to make it easier/quicker to find the piece that we need for a particular spot. That wasn’t much fun.

We worked so hard over the weekend that we didn’t do anything on Monday night, we just couldn’t. This almost never happens to my husband, so you know we did a lot.
My husband wants to have all the stone up on this wall by the end of the holiday weekend. I may not survive.
Here is the sign that we needed the brackets for:

I hope that you and your family have a relaxing Memorial Day weekend.

Hope you don’t hurt yourself lifting so much weight.
