Another Room Refresh

I have struggled with my youngest son’s room to get it to look cohesive. So, I started over.

Here’s what it looked like in the listing photo:

Here was the first iteration:

So, I kept the green coverlet, but changed all the rest of the bedding.

I bought a new plaid rug–even my husband likes it.

So cute, right?

I swapped the Pottery Barn shams to Madras with a striped blue pillow (I reused the inserts for all of them.) I brought the nightstand that we had painted for his room at the old house back into the picture, and I brought up two vintage hat boxes to use as a nightstand on the other side. I hung wall lamps, because there isn’t much space in this room.

I had the shams and the pillow made. I bought the plaid quilt off ebay for nearly nothing–and I got a duvet in the same print too!

I also brought up an upholstered chair for the corner, and hung up some vintage cameras.

Fortunately, I didn’t have to paint the walls for this room! So I bought wall lamps, a quilt, a rug, and had some pillows made. Pretty big difference for less than $500. (It helps that I had a treasure trove in the basement to pull from.)
