My zinnias are going absolutely crazy and providing great cover for my sweet potato vines. There are TONS of yellow and orange zinnias in the mix, so I created this table to use them.
I found a pale yellow Southern Living brand flower arranging container (the lid has holes in it to hold the stems) at the thrift store a couple weeks ago, so I decided to use that. I picked a bunch of yellow and orange zinnias and placed them in about 2 quarts of water to which I added a couple tablespoons of sprite and about 1/2 tsp of bleach. I let them sit and cool off for about 30 minutes and then I put them in the sink and put the water mixture in the container and replaced the lid. Then I started arranging. I put the orange ones in first and then filled in with the yellow.
For the place settings, I used my yellow Fiestaware dinner plates, Villeroy and Boch Albertina salad plates, Sears Savannah Goblets (such a cute etched stylized rose pattern), water glasses and yellow/gold napkins. I added a couple floriform orange and yellow glass candle holders.

Cute!
