Potting Shed is Complete

My organization stuff finally came in, and I chose the Gladiator system. It is fully customizable and it is really easy to put up. We used the laser level to get it all level and we screwed it through the face of the gear track and we countersunk the screw heads. The best option I found for my nursery pots and trays was gear net baskets–meant for balls and sports gear. I bought 2–one for each size of nursery pots that I have. I also got some little bins and some double hooks. I may not need all the double hooks in the potting shed, but I have the same system in the garden shed, so I can use them there.

Potting up seedlings is messy and I found this small masonry tray at Lowe’s for about $11–which is much less than a dedicated potting tray.

My trash can full of potting soil is a little too tall for under the counter, so I put the lid upside down. I keep my gardening knife and my scissors handy on the front of the counter.

I’m not doing much work in here right now because it’s so awfully hot and a terrible time to start anything. Towards the end of August, I will start my fall lettuce and kale. (I found seeds half off at my local Ace store, so I loaded up.)

We are still considering whether or not to put a fan in here. I do most of my work with seedlings when it’s fairly cool out, so I am not sure that I need it. We have time to think about it. I found a solar powered fan that is meant for a stable/barn for animals that I think would work great.
